Previously owned by Skellerup, Sandford Industries 2010 Ltd in Christchurch was purchased by Kris and Sarah Webster on 10th January 2011. Just over a month later on 22 Feb 2011 the factory was severely damaged in the Christchurch Earthquake forcing production to cease. Determined to succeed and have the company back in full production within six months, Sarah, Kris and the staff worked hard. Four

months on they had exceeded this expectation by re-establishing the business at a new premise and re branding their gumboots with the Commando brand.

General information

Overcoming the odds Sandfords has continued to grow rapidly with stock constantly evolving. Most recently there has been the introduction of EH qualified and safety marked gumboots into stock. Looking forward, Sandford Industries intends to produce the Commando Tough range an extra durable gumboot collection. The Commando Classics for women and Skelligator youths and nipper gumboots are still going strong with vibrant new colours being released each year. The introduction of our Chic ankle gumboot in 2011 was a great success especially among gardeners. In addition to gumboots Sandford Industries 2010 Ltd aims to build on their existing apron business by offering competitive solutions to the food industry and rural market. With our already proven eyelet weld we are well on our way.
