We had the honour of hosting Housing Minister Chris Penk at our Drury operation last week.

He got a full view of our offsite construction model - from frame-up to finishing - and we had valuable discussions around how factory-based consenting could support faster building delivery across New Zealand.

We are proud to have contributed to the innovative housing solutions at Papakura Military Camp, as highlighted in the Franklin Times article. The project features five four-bedroom, fully furnished flats, each equipped with modern amenities such as kitchens, lounges, apartment-style laundries, dishwashers, ensuites, and private balconies.

A separate utility building offers larger commercial washing machines, drying rooms, and storage facilities. This development represents a significant generational change in accommodating New Zealand Army personnel, moving away from traditional barrack-style housing to more homely and functional living spaces. The off-site modular construction approach not only reduced costs but also minimised on-site disruption, leading to a swift seven-month completion.

The success of this project underscores Transbuild Commercial’s commitment to delivering high-quality, transportable purpose-built facilities.
