It’s incredible to think 170 people die each year as a result of asbestos.
If you are looking to do your own renovation work it’s important to consider what risks are involved.

If you are unsure about what materials may contain asbestos, as a home owner you are able to get samples tested for free at Wakari hospital.
Give them a call to discuss safely taking the sample to them.

I've always liked incorporating recycled products into new builds where possible.
On this project we invited people to salvage what was re-usable rather than taking things straight to the dump.
These windows were taken to Balclutha by mistake sent back to Dunedin, Design Windows then took them to a local supplier to remove the old timber framing and sandwich the old stain glass into new double glazing.
