We’re celebrating a pretty special milestone at Geoworks 🎉

A huge congratulations to our Graduate Surveyor, Alex Baker, on officially passing the examinations and interviews required to become a Licensed Cadastral Surveyor! 👏

This is a fantastic achievement and a testament to Alex’s commitment, perseverance and hard work over the past few years. Alex was also part of the pilot programme for the new competency assessment framework, making this accomplishment even more significant.

We’re incredibly proud to see him reach this milestone and grateful for the dedication, passion and expertise he brings to Geoworks every day.

Congratulations Alex — well deserved and we look forward to seeing your continued success as part of the Geoworks team.

Big couple of weeks for the Geoworks team working alongside Avodah Photo + Cinema capturing some fresh new content for the business.

From site visits and field work through to office collaboration shots, it’s been great showcasing the people, projects and technology behind what we do every day across surveying, engineering and planning.

A huge thanks to the team at Avodah for helping bring the Geoworks story to life — we’re looking forward to sharing the results soon!

Last week, Geoworks was proud to sponsor and support the annual PB Charity Golf Tournament, held at the Feilding Golf Club.

We sent along Alex, Nathan, Garry and Ryan to represent us 🏌️‍♂️

Together, we raised over $14,000 for Manawatu Riding For Disabled — an incredible result for such a deserving cause. Thanks to all who were involved, your support will make a real difference in our community.

Just over one and a half years

◼What do you enjoy most about your role?
Field testing and the problem solving aspects associated.

◼A project or achievement you’re proud of:
Being relatively fresh to surveying still, I'm proud to have picked up a wide range of new skills in a relatively short period, implementing them effectively for customer and company satisfaction.

◼What’s one skill or strength you bring to the team?
Adaptability. While I enjoy a good work flow, I don't mind ebbing and shifting to keep work flowing for others.

◼Where are you from originally?
Morrinsville, Waikato

◼Hobbies or things you enjoy doing?
Collecting semi-precious gemstones from around New Zealand and carving them up into all sorts of wonders.

◼Favourite local spot in Horowhenua/Manawatū?
A relatively unknown Pohangina Valley cave system, where a tributary stream off the main Pohangina River, cuts through soft sedimentary layers, creating moderately sized caverns and incisions into the walls of the stream.

◼Favourite movie:
Gladiator

◼Favourite song or music artist:
Credence Clearwater Revival

◼Favourite food (or go-to comfort food):
At the moment: Plum Yogurt

Moldova

I avidly enjoy writing, both musical lyrics and about metaphysics based philosophy.
