In case you weren't already aware, this week is MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS WEEK.

Here at Cupples Construction, mental health is a HUGE part of our focus, and helps define our team culture. We recognize that our staff and clients are the same as us, we are all PEOPLE with our own things going on. We try our best to promote a safe environment for our staff to reach out to us for support, and ensure that they always take time to look after themselves and those that are important to them.

Mental health issues affect one in four New Zealanders and research from Australia indicates construction workers are six times more likely to die by su***de than in a workplace accident. We, as an industry, need to do something about this by looking after ourselves and our workmates - or just the people closest to us in general.

How often have you thought "I wonder how this person is going", but never actually sent a message or made a telephone call?

More importantly, how often do you take the time to slow down and ask yourself if you're happy?

This is your reminder to take some time this week to check in on yourself, and the people you care about. Reach out to your family or friends if you are needing a bit of extra support.

And if you see us in the streets, don't hesitate to give us a wave and a smile, because the little things can make all the difference.

Check out this amazing fence that we have recently completed for our lovely clients. We spent time going backwards and forwards with ideas to make sure we chose a style of fence that suited our clients budget, as well as the aesthetic they were going for. We think they made a fantastic choice!

What a year it has been! While there have been some ups and downs in the building sector, we are pleased to have been able to get through it with the support of our wonderful clients, subtrades, and of course our team. We couldn’t have done it without you all!

We are now clocking out for the year. From our family to yours, we would like to wish everyone a happy and safe Holidays. We look forward to seeing you all in the new year.

Time for us all to knock off and have a ‘Cupple’!
