IMS would like to take the time to congratulate Mesui Kavai also known as “Sui” for completing his NZ Certificate in Mechanical Engineering.
Sui has been with us at IMS since 2016 and has majorly progressed his skills and become a huge personality in the workplace and on site.
Sui has been juggling his apprenticeship with his family life and full time work. He said finding time to study was near impossible, by the time the kids went to sleep, it was too late to study. He said being committed to work was the number one priority before studying, but it was hard to find time. He said he was able to manage everything with the support of his family, managers, boss and workmates, who gave him that push to get it done.
Sui’s goals are to keep bettering himself and to gain his welding tickets.
Sui said he loves working at IMS because they are truly family-oriented- which is great with Sui having lots of young kids. He said he likes the way they encourage him to further his career & skills “As I have potential apparently haha” he explained, “it's like working with family, they are supportive, kind and caring.”
If Sui were to encourage anyone who is thinking of doing the same apprenticeship he would say “Do it and finish it, as this will open up more doors of opportunity in the future.”
A few words from Jo Bennett, our owner/director:
“It has been so cool to watch Mesui’s journey, from a shy young man, listening and learning, putting his hand to everything, to finding his forte, ‘Fabrication’.
Very proud of you Mesui, you have achieved so much over the past 7 years, a great family man and our fabrication master”.
Well done Sui, We are looking forward to watching you develop even more and grow your career.
