Waikato Land And Building .
After many months of figuring out where the company is going and how to keep it going , ive exhausted my options
I have made the decision to step back ( there may be a chance at some on the side work ) step back to just myself keep the company going in the background most likely not trading , but put on the apron for another company so I take back my afternoons and weekends and my headspace , running a small buisness is tough and this decision was thought out over a long time. Time I may never get back , time with my kids growing up , time alot of buisness owners regret because they didn't see there kids grow up , too busy in the rat race.
Waikato Land And Building was formed by myself and my wife at the time to try and achieve a few key things
- A better life for us and our daughters (ended in divorce)
- To bring back craftsmanship with pride ( unfortunately the market is for speed not quality at this time )
- To teach and train the up and coming generations .
- To be transparent and honest with full accountability.
- To complete tasks to the customers satisfaction
With the climate as it is and losing 90 % of leads to cheap handymen and trying to lower my price and having no margin I have ran arground (basicaly raced to the bottom ), however I am happy to know we put up the good fight spent money on advertising, learnt so much , learnt alot about people and buisness . She's definitely dog eat dog out there

For the ones that know me you know ive been holding on and holding out and I myself think ive done a great job keeping one nostril out of the water for this long.
New chapter , restart , rekindle , focus more on my family .
If anyone knows of any good construction businesses looking for and experienced builder that is diverse in all aspects of building get in touch . 14 years experience anything from formwork , through frames fixing trusses roofing , gib fixing , finishing/trimouts , doors, cabnitary hardware . Mirrors and vanity. (Much left out)
Possible contract rate $65hr plus gst $1.50 plus gst per km traveled with own tools and van
Wages $40-$55hr
It is up for discussion ie rates, fuel card, vehicle , hours
On the side work ie my own time for projects ill be $85+gst an hour with $1.50 per km , 20% mark up on materials which is still cheaper than what you can get it for and 20% margin
Can do labour only too
