We recently welcomed Amanda from Divergence to Hill Labs for a lunchtime seminar on Understanding Neurodivergence: Autism and ADHD.

Amanda led an insightful session that helped build awareness and understanding of neurodiversity, while providing practical takeaways for creating a more inclusive workplace.

👣 Steptember 2026 has officially wrapped up, and what an incredible effort from our team!

Together, Hill Labs staff walked an impressive 39,794,900 steps, covering about 31,040km throughout the month. Along the way, those steps may have helped avoid approximately 6.9 tonnes of CO₂-e emissions, proving that getting active can have benefits for both our wellbeing and the environment.

The challenge brought plenty of friendly competition, motivation, and teamwork, with participants embracing every opportunity to get moving throughout September.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part, donated, and supported Steptember. It was fantastic to see so many people getting active, connecting with colleagues, and contributing to a great cause. Well done to everyone involved! 👏

We were excited to support the Science Roadshow NZ's 2026 Christchurch programme - marking the first time Hill Labs has sponsored this inspiring event.

Over 10 days this September, more than 2,500 students from 12 schools took part in hands-on science activities designed to spark curiosity and learning. It was especially rewarding for some of our Christchurch-based team who were able to head along to a number of the Roadshow events. They experienced firsthand the enthusiasm and engagement of local students as they explored the world of science.

As a science-based business, we're proud to back initiatives that bring science to life and encourage the next generation of scientists. We love playing a small part in supporting science education across Aotearoa.

Yesterday we hosted another successful Blue Do Breakfast at our Duke Street site in support of the Prostate Cancer Foundation of New Zealand 💙

Thanks to the generosity of everyone involved, we raised $250 for the Prostate Cancer Foundation NZ, with Hill Labs also making a company donation to support their important work.

Guests enjoyed a fantastic breakfast prepared by the team at our Dukebox café, who once again went above and beyond - from the delicious food to the thoughtful decorations and special touches.

More than just a breakfast, the event was an opportunity to start important conversations, raise awareness, and show our support for men's health.

The inaugural WasteMINZ and Australasian Land & Groundwater Association (ALGA) Conference - held in Wellington in May - marked a significant milestone for the environmental sector in New Zealand and Australia. Bringing together over 650 attendees, 45 exhibitors, 19 sponsors, and more than 180 speakers, the event was one of the largest gatherings for the contaminated land, waste and environmental sectors in the region. It also underscored the power of cross-organisational collaboration in addressing some of the significant challenges that the industry currently faces.
