MCLStead has actively participated in a series of workshops aimed at deepening our understanding of the Māori economy and the key factors required to establish long-term, strategic partnerships with both Māori and the Crown. Our commitment to fostering enduring relationships drives us to continuously enhance our knowledge and approach. As part of this journey, we recently held a workshop at one of our local marae- Rūnanga marae, providing a meaningful setting to engage, learn, and connect. To support this vision, we are collaborating with HTK Group to guide and strengthen our efforts.

🚧 Exciting Joint Venture Announcement! 🚧

Stead Construction and MCL Construction are thrilled to announce our new joint venture aimed at bidding on some of the largest and most impactful construction projects in Hawkes Bay!

This collaboration combines our extensive expertise, decades of experience, innovative building techniques and shared vision for quality and innovation—helping us to bring groundbreaking developments to the region.

While we’re joining forces for this venture, we remain two independent companies. This is a strategic partnership that leverages the strengths of both organizations for those one in 5 year projects while preserving our unique identities.

MCLStead's first project we are bidding on is the Napier City Council Civil Precinct which is an exciting project for both us and the people of Napier.

We are getting close to completing the 4 year project of doubling the size of Papamoa College.
This has been an intensive project with the team doing a lot of logistical work to ensure the school's day to day running is disrupted as little as possible.

The $70m project adds four buildings, including a tech centre and library.

Exciting things are happening on-site as we push forward with our newest commercial construction project, Bayleys in Havelock North.

Directly across the road from our recently completed New World Havelock North build, each phase is coming together beautifully.

This build is set to bring fresh energy to the area.

It’s hard to believe that it’s already been 2 and a half months since the grand opening of the New World Havelock North supermarket we had the privilege to build as the main contractor! 🏗️🛒

Seeing the store thriving and serving the community is a true testament to the hard work and dedication of our incredible team. We're proud to have played a part in delivering this project and bringing such a valuable resource to the area.

Thank you to everyone involved in making this a reality, and to the community for embracing the new supermarket!

After years of hard work and dedication, we're overjoyed to see the finished result of our complete redevelopment of Flaxmere College. We know that it will serve as a hub of learning and growth for Flaxmere for years to come.

We want to extend our thanks to everyone involved: the architects, engineers, construction workers, subcontractors and all of our amazing team members who contributed their time and expertise to make this vision a reality. 🙌

But most importantly, we want to thank our students and their families for their patience and support throughout the construction process. We hope it is a space that fosters creativity, curiosity, and academic excellence. 📚✏️

The complete redevelopment included new classroom blocks, new administration block, along with redevelopment of the existing school hall and gymnasium. It also included removal of the obsolete existing buildings. All this was achieved while the school was in full operation.
