𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗱 🏡

Our accessible extension project is now complete and handed over 🥳

The new purpose built space includes a main bedroom, accessible bathroom, wardrobe, kitchenette and small bedroom. Outside, the ramp and deck help with easier access and connect the extension back to the existing home.

A big achievement for Manzis was completing the works bang on schedule - congrats to our team for managing delays and problems quickly to keep our clients return home at the forefront.

Massive mihi to all of the subcontractors that helped us deliver on time and on budget. Great fun getting to know some new Gizzy people, and of course we're so thankful to our Hawke's Bay subbies who made the trip for us.

𝗡𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 🏠🔨

Our Gisborne extension project is looking more like a home and less like a worksite 🥳

As we near the end of the build, there is still a lot happening behind the scenes to tie everything together ready for handover.

During the fit-out stage, there are a lot of moving parts and you'll find us coordinating up to 7 trade disciplines within a short period of time to keep on schedule. From plastering, painting, plumbing, electrical, flooring and joinery - if you've built before, you'll understand that this is no easy feat to get the sequencing right.

This is also where thorough 𝗽𝗿𝗲-𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 shows its value and helps keep things moving in the right direction up until completion.

This was particularly important for our team on this project as we are primarily based in Hastings Hawke's Bay but still needed to manage the build well, as if it were local to us.

It's a buzz for us when our clients recall the way our team made them feel during a project.

What we've learned is that team culture and client experience are just as important as build quality. And the fun part is that we're locals too and we really do enjoy the people side of our mahi.

These are golden moments on a project.

Getting the clients and the team together once the roof is on (or in this case three roofs) and taking a minute to acknowledge the work that’s gone into getting the build to this stage - both by the contractors and for our client Jody who has worked relentlessly to bring Wai Karaoke to Heretaunga Hastings 🔥

With global issues disrupting the industry right now, it's a good time to celebrate the wins, no matter how big or small!

𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘄𝗮𝘆 🏡

The interior work has been moving along really well at our Gisborne extension project.

Key tasks for this stage:

✅ Install insulation
✅ Line walls & ceilings
✅ Install Hardieglaze & vinyl flooring in the bathroom
✅ Plaster all new linings ready for paint

👉 shout out to Rhys & the team from Top Fix Stop for travelling from Central Hawke's Bay and doing an amazing job!

Because building isn't always linear, we'll share a small hurdle we came across when we installed the exterior door slightly too high. Not by much, but enough to notice.

So what did our team do about it?

𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝘁!

Problem solving is a big part of our role in delivering a good result for our clients and importantly, making sure their build journey is well managed along the way.
