On behalf of East Coast H**p, we would like to extend a mihi to every single person who attended one of our h**p construction courses, gave up their time to lend a hand, and came to tautoko this kaupapa.

Because of your commitment, energy, and willingness to learn, we are proud to say that all of the h**pcrete has now been completed. This milestone belongs to every one of you.

What an incredible journey it has been. We’ve had the privilege of meeting so many amazing people, sharing knowledge, learning from one another, and building more than just a house—we’ve built lasting relationships and strengthened a community united by a common purpose.

Projects like this are never achieved by one person alone. They are built through community, collaboration, and a shared belief that we can create something better together.

To everyone who showed up, worked hard, asked questions, shared laughs which were plenty, and embraced the kaupapa—Ngã mihi. You have all played a part in making this project a reality, and we are truly grateful.

As lime binder carbonates, the bright creamy lime apperance gradually softens into warm earthy tones, revealing the natural beauty of the h**p within the wall.

Its not ageing.

Its maturing.

The most beautiful part of H**pcrete happens after the wall is built.
Its the story of natural materials doing what they've done for thousands of years-working with nature rather than against it.

Every h**pcrete wall develops its own unique character, creating spaces that feel warm, grounded, an connected to the whenua.

A living material, continuing to evolve long after construction is complete.

Excess dust and fibre can significantly increase binder demand within an mix.
