How’s the condition of your roof?
Your roof is one of the most important parts of your home — protecting everything underneath it and helping protect your biggest asset.
Here on the West Coast, our coastal environment can be tough on roofing iron and fixings. As your roof ages, iron can deteriorate or lift, fixings can fail, and small issues can develop into leaks and hidden damage.
When was the last time you checked your roof and roof cavity? Here’s what to look out for:
Lifting or damaged roofing iron
Popped nails or incorrectly installed screws
Rust, bubbling paint or deteriorating iron
Damaged flashings or roof penetrations around vents, pipes, chimneys or skylights
Water stains, damp patches or discoloured timber in the roof cavity
Mould or musty smells
