With the old Steamers building on Mackay street in greymouth having come to a finish on the inside for some time now, a piece of history now turned in to two modern apartments for short term accommodation is close to going live.

Unit 2 has come close to a finish at 58 Mackay street, here are some progress photos at this stage .

The Entry in to the two units of 58 Mackay street is looking pretty sharp.

We had some left over rimu from the entrance wall into the two units so thought why not wrap it around the front entry on the inside to the building. We then added a black aluminium trim to break it up a little.

Kitchen in unit 1 at the old steamers building in greymouth is ready for its appliances in the next few days followed by unit 2 .

Small job completed to add more space to a shed up one of the valleys in Hokitika. Steel portal drawn up and supplied locally, stairs and mezzanine made on site. Great addition for more space.

This is the entrance wall inside the foyer we have been working on at the old steamers building in greymouth, which has been converted in to two units . Quite appealing using recycled rimu that we machined from old wall panels also salvaging old architraves that were left behind. A final coat and windows added with lighting will complete this.

The floors on this project we have gifted a new life. By sanding and adding a Handley waterborne polyurethane adding a very nice finish.

These circle windows are from the original building. They will have a timber feature wall behind using recycled timber from the building also, then lit up with a led light. Windows are above each entry door for the units.

Skirtings and architraves are getting undercoated in one of the units, a 130 bevel pine has been chosen for this project with dark feature walls which will be having built in bed heads .
