Bossman Engineering Ltd has a vacancy for an experienced Engineer to carry out general Engineering, repairs, fabrication and machining at the workshop as well as on farm repairs when required.
The successful applicant will need to be hard working with the ability to work alone and part of a small team.
Read and understand verbal and written plans.
Reliable, honest, loyal and hold a current NZ drivers’ license.
Physically fit and in good health.
This position would suit a local living in the area. For the correct applicant Trade Certificate an advantage but not essential and machining experience would be an advantage.
Bossman Engineering would also consider a self-employed contractor or someone looking for part time work.

We are moving!

Bossman Engineering is moving to 165 Hororata Road (Old Prime Smoke Site).

We have closed the workshop doors at Bealey Road, and will reopen at our new premises on Monday the 13th of January 2025.

Introducing the Bossman Fish Screen.

Over the past 5 years, we have been hard at work developing a fish screen that has no moving parts, is self cleaning, and uses no electricity all while eliminating fish mortality and meeting the new regulations set by NIWA and ECAN. We have been working with ECAN, Irrigation New Zealand, Fish and Game and tangata whenua to create the next generation of fish screen. We have undertaken numerous design concepts, experiments and fish testing.

We are proud to share with you our first operational and consented screen. Located on the West Branch of the Awakino River near Kurow, our 50 litre per second screen has recently been approved by ECAN, opening the doors for us to continue helping our customers to find effective fish screening solutions to help ensure farmers can still get their consented water while also protecting our fish.

The positions are based at our workshop at 2253 Bealey Rd Hororata, as well as on-farm repairs in the local area and beyond. Trade Certificate and machining experience would be an advantage, as would experience in general agriculture maintenance work.
