THE ABL SPRINT ACE JERSEY

Every prime. Every point. Every sprint.

Across the 2026 YUNCA Junior Tour of Southland, some of the fiercest battles won't just happen at the finish line.

At designated sprint points throughout the Tour, riders will fight for points towards the ABL Sprint Ace classification — with 3 points for first, 2 for second and 1 for third.

The rider who accumulates the most points earns the right to wear the green ABL Sprint Ace jersey.

A huge thank you to Amalgamated Builders Limited (ABL) for continuing to support the YUNCA Junior Tour and putting their name behind one of the Tour's most hotly contested jerseys.

THE YUNCA TOUR LEADER JERSEY

One Tour. Six stages. One leader.

The yellow Yunca Tour Leader jersey is the one every rider wants to wear.

From the opening 2.6km time trial at Teretonga to the final criterium at Yunca, every second counts. The rider with the lowest accumulated time leads the General Classification and earns the right to pull on the Yunca Tour Leader jersey.

For more than 40 years, Yunca has stood behind this Tour, helping generations of young riders test themselves on the roads of Southland. That incredible long-term support continues in 2026 as we prepare for the 43rd YUNCA Junior Tour of Southland.

So the question is...

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE YUNCA MEMORY?

This year will be my first YUNCA Junior Tour as Tour Director, and one of the things I’ve really enjoyed in the lead-up has been learning more about the incredible history of this event.

More than 40 years of racing means there must be a heck of a lot of stories out there, and I want to hear them!

The great rides and stage wins, absolutely... but especially the funny stuff....

The things that went wrong!
The terrible weather!
The road-trip stories!
The rivalries!
The characters!
The moments that still get brought up years later!

YUNCA 2026 — STAGE 6

Kieran O’Neill Orthodontist brings us the final stage of the 43rd YUNCA Junior Tour of Southland — the YUNCA Criterium.

FAST. TECHNICAL. ALL TO PLAY FOR.

After three days of racing, the Tour comes down to one final battle on the streets of Invercargill.

ONSLOW STREET CIRCUIT

The tight urban circuit takes riders from Onslow Street through Rockdale Road and Inglewood Road before returning to Onslow — a fast, technical finale where positioning, timing and speed will matter right to the finish.

With the final stage comes one last opportunity to attack, defend a jersey, move up the standings or simply leave everything out on the road.

Southern Insulation joins the YUNCA Junior Tour in 2026, bringing us Stage 5 of the 43rd edition — the brand-new Waianawa Loop.

For the first time, YUNCA heads onto the open roads of Western Southland, with riders taking on a completely new course before the Tour reaches its final stage.

O’Connor Contracting Kapuka brings us Stage 4 of the 43rd YUNCA Junior Tour of Southland — the Newvale Circuit.

OPEN ROADS. SMART RACING. NO FREEBIES.

Stage 4 takes riders onto the Newvale Circuit, starting from Te Tipua School before heading out onto the open roads for another demanding road stage.

After the morning time trial, the racing changes gear as riders return to Teretonga for some fast and exciting bunch racing.
