- ESPLANADE HOUSE -

Up to date shots of one of our current projects.

Tasked with building this beautiful home, we are up for the challenge.

Again we are building in another beautiful spot. This home has plenty of angles, insitu concrete walls, natural timber cladding and spans of glass with the structural aesthetics of exposed steel.

We had to demo the existing house situated on the site to make way for the new.

Block wall founds allow us to get the elevation and a clean finish to the foundation. To come is the slab which we will get into when the hardfill has been completed and services laid.

Up to date shots of one of our current projects.

Been a full on month navigating different jobs and stages. Great to be at this stage though as we are almost there getting the roof on and the back broken of the framing.

We ended up building our own frames which worked well to tie in with the steel portals accurately but added to the complexity working out raking stud lengths…can’t rate the trig app highly enough! Great experience for the team though.

No trusses here so each rafter is individually cut with seat and heel cuts to create ‘bird mouths’.

Been a massive week for the team as we completed the floor joists, sub-floor hardware, door rebates, flooring, erected the steel portals, and finished early after standing 90% of the frames (that we built).

Stunning views and a different picture every day from dolphins, massive easterly swells, and sea fog rolling around Point Kean.

We’ve moved! Actually this happened way back on the 13/09/20 so it’s been a while since we’ve posted anything! Southbridge to South Bay, Kaikōura!

We have uplifted our family and business to this beautiful part of the world.

Keep following us for hopefully more regular posts on what’s on the horizon and what’s been happening.

Also, you may have noticed our company name change…new location, new name!

The finished product everyone! This is one sturdy bed. Immaculately finished, which shows the wonderful craftsmanship involved in creating it. I love that he could take my idea and make it a reality!

So I’m sure you’re all keen for the update on the bed! This went down today. Building lingo from the man. “I was Creating mortises for floating tenons for the joins on the bed frame. Made a jig to make it easier to rebate...next stage is gluing up the frames!!! Such a complicated process! Loving seeing it come together though!
