A great day celebrating our 4 Tupu Plumbing tauira who completed the one-year 'earn as you learn' programme last week. We held a Hui Whakapumau to acknowledge the mahi and achievements of these young men during their time with us. They all graduated with a Level 2 certificate in Building and Construction (BCATS) through BCITO and a Level 4 (LCP) certificate in Plumbing and Drainlaying through Te Pukenga.
On top of the unit standard achievements, Cohort 2 installed 131 potable water storage systems for whānau in the Te Hiku region. They took part in work experience with local tradesmen to gain further insight into the life of a full-time tradie, and they worked with education providers to grow their knowledge of Tikanga Māori, work readiness, and financial literacy.
As our tauira venture off to their next employment path, we wish them all the very best - Kia kaha, kia māia, kia manawanui
