🏗️ 280M² NON-SLIP BROOM FINISH CONCRETE | WAIPUNA MARAE – PANGURU, FAR NORTH NZ
Another great project completed by the Henwood Concrete team at Waipuna Marae in Panguru, Far North, Northland.
We arrived on site Monday morning and got straight into the full preparation, completing the digger excavation, concrete cutting and removal, ground preparation, formwork and steel mesh reinforcing, getting everything ready for Tuesday morning’s concrete pour.
After a solid first day on the tools, we were fortunate enough to spend the night at Waipuna Marae, with our crew and the Henwood family, ready to get straight back into it first thing Tuesday morning.
Tuesday was another big day, with 28m³ of 25MPa, 13mm chip concrete supplied by FNR Concrete. With access requiring it, the concrete was wheelbarrowed into position, placed and finished across approximately 280m², including sections where we overlaid existing concrete.
The entire area was completed with a non-slip broom finish, creating a strong, practical and durable surface with excellent traction.
A massive thank you to Catherine and everyone at Waipuna Marae for giving Henwood Concrete the mahi, for the amazing hospitality, and for allowing our crew and the Henwood family to stay at the marae.
