Te Reinga Network Arch Bridge

Eastbridge successfully lifted the Te Reinga Network Arch Bridge a couple of weeks ago, using the largest crawler crane in New Zealand — Smiths’ 1000-tonne crawler. This was the crane’s very first lift, and it stands as one of the biggest single-crane lifts ever completed in New Zealand.

The bridge is a fabricated box arch constructed from weathering steel, making it one of the more complex and intensive network arches we’ve built to date. Despite the intricacy, it fitted together exceptionally well — a testament to the skill and precision of everyone involved.

As the photos show, the assembly area was extremely tight, even extending into the neighbour’s backyard!

A huge congratulations to the entire team, from fabrication right through to installation. This was a significant achievement, and something everyone involved can be proud of.
