Big thanks to the Taranaki Chamber of Commerce and Network of Trades crew for joining us at our yard on Tuesday night.

Steve shared a bit about how Avenue Roading started and the work our team does across Taranaki – from road construction and maintenance through to driveways, rights-of-way, tanker tracks and earthworks.

Appreciate everyone who came along and checked out the workshop and gear and the team for doing such a good job setting the workshop up for the event.

We’re proud to have teamed up with our mates at OPS Plumbing & Pipeline earlier this year to help improve Lepperton School’s grounds — including sealing the pump track for the kids to enjoy 🚲

Earlier this year, our team at OPS Plumbing & Pipeline completed a stormwater upgrade at Lepperton School to fix flooding around the playground — and we were stoked to be part of a project that made a real difference for local tamariki.

On top of that, we also funded and sealed the school’s pump track, working alongside our sister company Avenue Roading to get it done right.

Now one of the students, Savarna, is doing her bit to give back — taking part in the school’s 2025 Fun Run to help raise money for new playground gear and technology equipment.

The Avenue Roading team has successfully completed the 3/5 chip seal surfacing for Rata Street Stage 1, located on Glover Road, Hāwera — part of our commitment to delivering smoother, safer roads for the local community. 🚧

This durable surface treatment will:
🔹 Improve skid resistance.
🔹 Extend the pavement’s life.
🔹 Enhance ride comfort for all road users.

We’re very proud to introduce another one of our talented team members, Jiwan, a dedicated Civil Engineer with a solid academic background in Civil and Highway Engineering. His expertise plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and longevity of our roading projects.

Jiwan is responsible for a range of technical assessments and design processes, including:

🧪 CBR Testing – Evaluating subgrade strength for reliable pavement structures
🔩 Scala Penetrometer Testing – Providing efficient on-site CBR estimations
🔨 Clegg Hammer Testing – Assessing compaction and surface stiffness
🛢️ Seal Design – Selecting appropriate binders and chip sizes for optimal performance
📏 Sand Circle Test – Measuring surface texture to improve chip retention and reduce flushing

His combination of technical knowledge and practical application ensures every project meets the highest standards of performance and durability.
