👋 Meet Josh – Safety & Compliance Supervisor

Josh has been with Structa for 4 years, starting out as a painter before stepping into his new role as Safety & Compliance Supervisor. His background spans industrial painting, Resene, the NZ Defence Force (Air Force), and study in fine arts and psychology – bringing a broad mix of experience and a strong ability to work with all kinds of people.

He enjoys working closely with the carpentry team, gaining a different perspective across projects and how things come together on site. A standout project for Josh was the Omata School office renovation, working closely with the school to talk through options and help achieve the right outcome.

Outside of work, Josh is into playing music, following Formula 1, or getting into a good yarn with pretty much anyone (same deal on site).

A solid addition to the crew keeping things running safely and consistently across site.

I’ve been with Structa for about 6 months now. My official role is primary site supervisor – I keep Tyson on track, lift morale, and make sure smoko is taken seriously.

I also take quality control pretty seriously… especially anything that looks like it might be food (or isn’t food, like broken concrete apparently). I’ve got a good routine between site, bush walks, and the couch at home when I’m not on duty.

Tyson’s been with Structa for 4 years and has 11 years’ building experience, mainly in residential work. He talks a lot about Landers House being a standout. The Ramsey job was more my thing – different scope, good variety, plenty to observe (and yes…plenty of concrete).

We work well together. He builds it. I supervise it.

👏 Congrats to Desiree on completing her first year of Te Reo Māori with Te Wānanga o Aotearoa.
