Sunergise has officially switched on NZāS LARGEST ROOFTOP SOLAR at Fisher & Paykel Healthcare! š
A major milestone for renewable energy in New Zealand:
More than twice the size of the countryās previous largest rooftop array (MÄnawa Bay, 2.3 MWp ā also installed by Sunergise), the system stands as a landmark project and could power over 1,000 average New Zealand homes.
The Project in numbers:
āļø 5.3 MWp rooftop solar system
ā” > 6,600 MWh energy generation per year
š± > 486 tonnes of COā offset per year
The solar system was delivered under Sunergiseās SunPlus⢠Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), meaning Fisher & Paykel Healthcare pays only for the electricity generated, with no upfront capital cost ā
Jonti Rhodes, Vice President ā Supply Chain, Facilities & Sustainability at Fisher & Paykel Healthcare, wants to inspire other businesses with the solar journey:
āInvesting in renewables is not only the right thing to do, itās the smartest business strategy to implement. Hopefully this serves as an example to other New Zealand businesses. Working with Sunergise has allowed us to invest in clean energy, build resilience into our operations while continuing our core mission of improving patient care and outcomes.ā
Energy resilience is once again top of mind and more important than ever.
āThe current fuel crisis is a reminder of how exposed New Zealand is to global energy shocks. Solar installations, like what weāve built at Fisher & Paykel Healthcare, give businesses long-term price certainty and energy resilience, something thatās never been more valuableā Paul Makumbe, CEO Sunergise.
The project shows what the renewable energy future looks like and what scale is possible today. We are excited to help businesses in NZ and the Pacific move towards greater energy resilience!
