Excavator Operator Wanted - Queenstown

Our team has a busy year ahead, and requires an additional Excavator Operator to join the crew.

Strata Civil works on primarily structural civil works, with a mixture of some general contracting and bulk earthworks in between.

We are after an operator who;
-Has minimum 3 years experience operating machinery.
-Has a right to work in NZ
-Has a can do attitude, and is a team player
-Is able to work any hours required
-Is able to work without direct supervision
-Has a huge amount of pride in looking after their equipment

Hanleys Farm DP8 Box Culvert.

This was a fun project requiring:
- Lowering of existing services
- Earthworks
- Installation of Hynds precast box section units
- Construction of in situ concrete head walls, wingwalls, retaining walls and culvert aprons
- Installation of piled UC retaining wall with board form finish precast concrete panels
- Installation of gabion baskets reno mattresses and rip rap
- Installation of Moddex BR40 Bridgewater

Class 4 Truck Driver Wanted

The Strata team is looking for an experienced Class 4 truck driver to join the team at the beginning of 2026.

The role will require you to operate a late model Mercedes Benz Arocs 2646, carting soils, gravels, machinery and other equipment around various sites within the Queenstown Lakes District area.

You must have an exceptional eye for detail and care for equipment.
You must be able to receive instructions well and work within a tight knit team.
You must be willing to help in other areas of the business as required when truck work is unavailable.
The ability to operate excavators and loaders from time to time is beneficial.

Excavator Operator Wanted

The Strata team require more skilled machine operators to join our crew.
This position is for work based within the Queenstown Lakes District and Cromwell areas.

Work will include earthworks, drainage, piling, shaping.
You must be willing to help out on the ground when required.

We will provide,
-strong forward work load of interesting projects
-ability to upskill
-great team culture
-health insurance
-company vehicle for the right candidate

You must have,
-minimum 2 years experience operating excavators 2-20t
-minimum class 1 drivers license. Ability to drive manual
-able to pass drug and alcohol test when required
-a positive can-do attitude

Something a bit different from our crew here. Entrance signs for the new Shannon Farm neighbourhood.
These walls have reinforced concrete footings piled into the ground, 20 series block walls stacked on top, clad with schist sourced from Poolburn Quarry.
