Very happy to support the team at Gin Fest Arrowtown with their environmental and sustainability goals at this outstanding event. Sustainable Queenstown

At Gin Fest this year, together we diverted 88.2% of event waste from landfill.

Your support of the reusable cups, dishes and waste stations made a huge difference and helped us create a more sustainable event.

A massive thank you to Queenstown Lakes District Council for their funding support, which allowed us to have the legend, Janey Rae, and her incredible team on-site ensuring all waste was sorted correctly throughout the day.

You may have also spotted our friends from Sustainable Queenstown who were busy collecting and washing the reusable dishes and cups used by our food vendors.

Sustainability has been a real focus for Gin Fest over the past few years, from removing plastic event cups to introducing our much loved aluminium cups, proudly sponsored by A J Saville Builder Limited a business that also shares our focus on sustainability and reducing environmental impact.

Small changes add up, and we are proud to keep raising the bar for events in our region 🍸🌿

We were thrilled to hand Reef Hosking Berge his apprenticeship certificate recently. He's the 32nd apprentice we've had the pleasure of training and mentoring alongside the team from the Building and Construction Industry Training Organisation in our time in business. We're proud to have made this contribution to the industry. Congrats Reef!!

** MEET OUR GUYS ** Reef Hosking Berge joined us in March and is close to finishing his apprenticeship. He’s loved the transition from mainly renovation work in Wellington on historic old properties to working on high-spec new builds. “Precision is everything, efficiency is a timesaver, and if you focus on having it bang on from the start, you run into less problems down the track,” he says. Finding it very different working for a high-end company with “a lot more steel and a focus on quality”, he says he’s always been critical of the work he does. And in that he’s enjoying working with site manager Matt on their Millbrook build. “It's enjoyable working with someone who has the same values and desired outcome,” he says. “I want to build well and be proud of the end result.” Into his skiing, wakeboarding and waterskiing, he’s also keen on sewing, cooking and baking, starting a ‘bake-off’ at work. Smoko breaks have never looked (or tasted) so good!!
