π©π° REL in Denmark: Big Boilers, Bigger Ideas
This week our General Manager has been on the ground in Denmark visiting some world-class manufacturers and seeing innovative technology in action.
First stop was Linka Energy A/S, a world-leading biomass boiler manufacturer renowned for handling some of the industry's most challenging fuels, including straw, wood waste, olive stones and other difficult-to-burn products.
Some highlights from the site visits included:
π₯ A sawmill operating a biomass boiler supplying heat to timber kilns, alongside an Alvan Blanch dryer processing wet woodchip fuel to maximize boiler efficiency.
π₯ A 2MW straw-fired boiler providing heat to a large poultry operation.
π₯ A 5MW steam boiler fueled by wood pellets and waste products from a pea protein manufacturing facility.
The trip also included visits with BM Silo, specialists in square silo design. Their systems are designed to maximise storage capacity by making better use of available space and can be used for a huge range of products including grain, meal, mash feed, plastics, wood pellets and more. They also manufacture load-out bins and customised storage solutions for a variety of industries.
It's always exciting to see innovative engineering solutions in action and explore technologies that can help improve efficiency, sustainability and performance for our customers back home in New Zealand.
