Kapiti Miniature Railway & Model Engineering Society Inc. Miniature Train rides at Raumati Marine Gardens Sundays 1 till 4 pm weather permitting. Our usual fares:- $1.50 p\p. $8\6 rides, $15\12 rides.

Under 3s ride free with a fare paying adult. One of Kapiti’s main tourist attractions! The Railway hosts a collection of live steam, internal combustion and battery electric locomotives. The track is a double loop and includes one station, two tunnels, a spiral and two viaducts. An recent extension has taken the railway within sight of the beach and Kapiti Island bringing the main line to just under 1km in length. The journey takes about 7 minutes.

If anyone has any offcuts of plastic Ecodeck (300mm long min) Please contact us. We can pickup anywhere between Levin and Paremata. Your donation will be greatly appreciated. PM or ring us if you have any plastic decking offcuts. Mike KMR.

Hi Everyone. We’re running some Trains this afternoon, and will be open from 1-4pm. Our usual fares are $1.50 per ride. $8 for 6 rides, $15 for 12 rides. Children Under 3 ride for free with a fare paying adult.
PS- Come down early. Don’t leave it to the last minute Last trains depart at 3.55pm.

UPDATE:- We can collect any offcuts from Levin and Otaki if anyone has any in those areas.

Hi everyone. We are replacing some of the wooden sleepers at our track and have found that the plastic Ecodeck material seems to work ok. If anyone has any leftover offcuts that are 300mm long that we could use. It would be appreciated. If you have any and in the Kapiti area, please send us a text on messenger, Mike KMR.

UPDATE 1:30pm. Due to lack of staff we won’t be opening today.

The Weather forecasts are conflicting... Met Service predicts rain later pm and NIWA predicts rain this morning. So we’ll run trains and will open at 1pm. If it gets wet we’ll close a bit earlier. See you at 1pm.
