It is with a heavy heart we let you all know of Terry’s passing, but with a grateful heart we appreciate him for all he has done for us, our family, and our team.
Terry was not only my boss for the 10 years prior to us purchasing the business, but he was also a mentor and a friend. He was a patient, genuine, kind & humble man both in life and in business, and it was these characteristics that earnt him the respect, love and loyalty of everyone around him.
Over the past few weeks, we have been reminiscing on our memories of Terry, in particular how ‘old-school’ he was in business. He was still hand writing his quotes and invoices, paying wages by waiting in a queue at the bank and hand delivering our payslips right up until the day he retired, but it was the little things like this that made him so unique and his service so personable. He was a people person who liked to keep it simple and focus on what he did best - laying drains and building relationships, not trying to figure out the latest advancements in technology. The values Terry instilled in the business are values we aspire to uphold today (although it’s a hard pass from us when it comes to handwriting invoices) & we’re forever grateful for the groundwork (pun intended) he has laid for us.
Farewell, old friend. You will be missed ❤️
