Meet the Apprentices

Providing a pathway for the next generation of fabricators is vitally important for the industry going forward. That is why we are delighted to have two great young apprentices at the start of their journey and learning their trade here at Pegasus Engineering & Patton. Thomas and Jack have been excellent since they started and have brought enthusiasm and energy to everything they do. We look forward to challenging them and watching them develop into top class fabricators in the coming years.

Our detailing team is expanding, and we are seeking more excellent detailers to join us. If you meet the criteria below and feel you can bring expertise and value to our growing business, get in touch.

* Extensive knowledge and experience in structural steel draughting environment.

* Clear, concise oral and written communication.

* Ability to accurately interpret plans/specifications, with excellent attention to detail.

* Strong knowledge of Tekla Structure and Strumis Software (or ability to learn).

* At least 3 years’ experience in the Structural steel draughting field within the Steel Construction industry.

BioOra 🏗

The internal works at our BioOra project are almost complete. The project is a mix of seismic strengthening to the existing structure and installing a new mezzanine floor into the space.
That will be followed by architectural canopies to the exterior of the building. The interior works comprised of extensive site welding and all the challenges of erecting heavy steel into an existing building. As always, our site team were up to the challenge and have done a great job.

Highview Terrace, Queenstown

The steel install is well underway at our residential project on Highview Terrace in Queenstown. It's a tight site with tricky access for trucks and cranes but our guys on site, Martyn and Ronnie, have made it look easy. With the majority of the 16 tonnes of steel getting installed this week, we will have one more site visit to install the rest after the first-floor concrete is poured. Thanks to Blair and the team at Primevue Construction Ltd for working in so well with our guys.

We are proud to announce that Pegasus Engineering & Patton have been selected as the steel contractor for the new Puahuru Bridge project in Queenstown. The 52m long pedestrian and cycling bridge will provide safe crossing for cyclists, pedestrians and school children. Stretching 8m over State Highway 6, the bridge links Jims Way and Ferry Hill Drive to Hardware Lane, offering access to the extensive Queenstown trail and cycling networks. We will provide the full steel scope of structural steel, railings, decking, and decorative features on this exciting project for the Queenstown area. With work to start later this year, keep an eye out for updates on progress.

We are currently working on our 3rd project at Hamilton Jet Christchurch this last year. This time we are supplying and installing the structural steel for the LJ Foundry Sand Reclamation project, working alongside our trade partner HRS construction. Thanks to their team on site and our own team for another job well done.

School Strengthening 💪

At Papanui High School our guys are hard at work installing the last of the 6 tonnes of strengthening steel that has gone into the Admin Block. It has been a big effort from the team to get these heavy members into place with a lot of co-ordination required. thanks to the site team at Hawkins for working in so well on a tricky project.
