A home designed for now, and whatever comes next.

Rachel and Richard wanted their Waikato home to feel just as comfortable when it was only the two of them as when family and friends came to stay.

The result is a flexible Landmark Homes Waikato Design and Build project with a distinctive Japandi influence, bringing together Japanese simplicity and Scandinavian warmth.

James Hardie recently showcased the finished home, highlighting how Oblique™ Weatherboard in a deep Resene Nero finish gives it bold architectural lines while sitting beautifully within the rural landscape.

🐕🏡 We've got a story for you!
On 1 April this year, Landmark Homes NZ announced it was expanding its 'Ready to Build collection' with a range of architecturally designed dog houses. Premium finishes, clever layouts and seamless indoor-outdoor flow, "for maximum zoomies, of course."
It was a joke. Then the messages started arriving.
"People genuinely loved it," says Landmark Homes Central and West owner Warwick Aldridge. "We had people messaging to say the house looked amazing and asking when they could order one. So we thought, why not build it?"

🐕🏡So they did. The finished dog house, built by the Landmark Homes Auckland team, will be on the Landmark Homes stand at the Auckland Home Show, and one visitor will take it home. Raffle tickets are $5, with every dollar raised going to the SPCA.

"This time, we wanted a Landmark."

For John and Sharalee, this wasn't about starting over. It was about finally building the home they'd spent years picturing.

Perched above Two Mile Bay, with sweeping views across Lake Taupō, every detail was intentional. The light, relaxed aesthetic. The seamless flow between indoors and out. The sense that each space was made for everyday life, and for the people they love to share it with.
