We are absolutely stoked to announce that the Te Awamutu Presbyterian Community Centre took home a Silver Award at the 2026 NZ Commercial Project Awards and we are so proud of the team that made it happen.

This build has always meant a lot to us. A space designed to bring people together, and watching it become a hub for the Te Awamutu community has been so rewarding. Hearing how local groups have found their home here, seeing the space come alive that's what we build for.

And can we just say the team scrub up pretty well too. Suits on, boots off (just this once)!

At WCML, we've always believed that what we build goes beyond the job site.

We're proud to have co-sponsored Michaela and Brunton to attend RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) a week-long, full-immersion leadership programme run alongside Te Awamutu Rotary Club. Backing young people who are driven to grow and lead is exactly the kind of investment we want to be known for.

We joined them on the final evening of the programme and sat in the room as they shared what the week had meant to them, the challenges they faced, the things they learned, and the ways they'd grown. It was one of those moments that reminded our team why we do this. You could see the difference the week had made, and we couldn't be prouder to have played a part in that.

This is who WCML is. We don't just show up on site or in the office, we show up for our people and our community. Supporting the next generation of leaders is something we'll always put our name behind.

We're incredibly proud to share a look at the Te Awamutu Presbyterian Community Centre, a project that has truly become something special for the local community.

Since opening, we've heard so many positive things, local groups have found a home here, community activities are flourishing, and the centre has quickly become an important hub for Te Awamutu. It's been genuinely awesome to be part of something this meaningful.

We're also excited to announce that the project is being recognised at the 2026 NZ Master Builders Commercial Project Awards, a fantastic acknowledgement on a national level. We're looking forward to celebrating with our team and the wider construction industry. So proud of everyone who brought this build to life.
