Structural Steel Fabrication

A recent set of structural beams fabricated and painted in the Harrods Engineering workshop for Coull Builders Ltd, ready for their team to collect and install as part of a renovation project they are completing.

With our welding procedures and welder certifications now in place, structural steel fabrication is another area we’re continuing to build our capability in.

From one-off beams and structural components through to larger fabrication work, we’re set up to support builders and contractors with steelwork fabricated right here in our workshop, or on your site.

Ngutunui Project | Part 1: The Start

Before there was a new shed… there was this.

Stage one was all about stripping it back - removing the old roof and steelwork to clear the way for the new build.

Harrods Engineering and Coull Builders Ltd worked together across the project, and for this first stage we brought in MF Agri and their Hiab truck to help safely remove the existing structure.

There were plenty of stages involved in taking this from what you see here to the finished build, and we’ll be sharing the progress over the coming weeks before revealing the final result.

Round Two - We’re hiring again. 🔧

We recently welcomed a new team member to Harrods Engineering - and we’re not done yet.
We’re on the lookout for one more good engineer to join us, with an immediate start available for the right person.

We’re a small Kihikihi-based team working across fabrication, welding, repairs, site work, rural and industrial projects. No two days look the same.

We’re after someone who is:
✅ Reliable, punctual, and prepared
✅ Hands-on with a can-do attitude
✅ Safety-focused on and off site
✅ Proud of their workmanship
✅ A team player — because that matters just as much as skill

Experience with MIG, TIG, Stick, fabrication or mechanical repairs is an advantage. Trade qualification is awesome but attitude and ability count just as much.

This role could start as fixed-term or permanent depending on the right person and their situation - let’s have a chat and figure it out.

With strong ties to Tahaaroa through work, many close friends and whānau out there, and our two tamariki pulling on that jersey — this is something we're genuinely proud to support.
