Some interesting repowers through the workshop lately!

We’ve had a great variety of Suzuki outboard repowers coming through recently, from a small 9.9hp through to some serious horsepower!

Recent completions include an Extreme 850 fitted with a Suzuki DF325A, featuring Suzuki’s dual-prop system, and a Bluefin HT700 repowered with a DF200TX V6, chosen for its strong torque and proven mechanical controls.

We’ve also completed a few smaller installations, including DF60A outboards and a 9.9hp, while a Challenger 720 is currently in the workshop receiving a DF250AUT.

A great mix of boats and engines, each with different requirements. It’s this variety that makes repower work interesting!

Another STEYR heading offshore!

This brand new STEYR SE286E40 is being prepared for dispatch to a customer in French Polynesia.

Before any new STEYR engine leaves our workshop, we carry out a thorough inspection and test run to ensure everything is operating as it should.

Although every engine is factory tested, we believe the extra checks are worthwhile, particularly when shipping to remote locations in the Pacific where resolving unexpected issues can be challenging.

Here’s the SE286E40 getting its final run before heading offshore!

REPOWER REWIND | Sealegs Innovision 8.5m

This Sealegs Innovision 8.5m came to us earlier in the year after its original Yamaha F250 suffered a major failure. We headed over to Waiheke Island and carried out the repower on-site, replacing it with a new Suzuki DF250AP.

With the Sealegs’ complex transom setup, this wasn’t a straightforward bolt-on job, but after 3½ days on site the new engine was ready to go.

Another good example of how a repower can give a quality boat a new lease on life — without replacing the boat itself.

A bit of STEYR activity in the workshop this week.

We currently have three STEYR marine diesels going through the repair loop at MPS.

Two SE286E40s have come back to us from a commercial jet boat operator in the South Island. We’ve purchased the pair and they’re now undergoing a full workshop refurbishment before being offered for resale.

Alongside them is an SE236E40 that has made the trip over from the Cook Islands for diagnostics and some minor repairs.

From servicing and diagnostics through to major repairs, repowers, parts and complete engine supply, we support STEYR engines throughout New Zealand and the South Pacific.
