Giving an old Wellington home a new life 🏡
Some homes just need someone to see the potential. 👀
When this old Wellington cottage came to us, it needed far more than a cosmetic refresh.
The house was stripped back and extensively renovated — re-plumbed, re-wired, re-lined and insulated throughout, with a new roof and major structural alterations inside. 🔨
The layout was completely reworked to create an open-plan kitchen, dining and living space with a much stronger connection to the backyard. A new ensuite, relocated bathroom and concealed laundry helped make the home work better for modern living, while structural beams allowed us to open up the interior and create the space the house was missing. ✨
One of the most important parts of the project was retaining the character of the original home. The street frontage remained largely unchanged, while behind it the house was transformed into something warm, functional and ready for another generation.
From a tired cottage needing work throughout to a home with a completely new lease on life, this was a pretty special transformation. 🤍
