You may have seen our recent outage updates, particularly across Canterbury, where cable theft and vandalism have taken several charging sites offline.

We know how frustrating these disruptions are, and we want to reassure you that there’s plenty happening behind the scenes.

We’re working closely with NZ Police and other charging network operators, sharing evidence and information to help identify those responsible and this work gets results. Earlier this year, cable theft incidents in Wellington led to offenders being charged and pleading guilty.

We’re also working with our site partners to trial additional deterrents, while keeping our chargers safe, accessible and reliable for everyone.

When damage occurs, our team works to restore service as quickly as possible, and we’ll continue sharing updates here and through the ChargeNet app.

You can help protect the network, too. If you see a theft in progress or immediate danger, keep yourself safe and call Police on 111.

If you discover damage at a charging site, please let us know on 0800 224 274.

Thanks for your patience, your support and for looking out for the network we all share ❤️ 🔌 🚗

Rolleston (PAK’nSAVE) charger update

Unfortunately, the Rolleston (PAK’nSAVE) charging site is currently unavailable following an incident of cable vandalism overnight.

Our team is working to arrange the necessary repairs, but we don’t have a confirmed timeframe for the site to return to service just yet. We’ll provide an update as soon as we have more information.

If you’re travelling through Rolleston, the Rolleston (New World) charging site is currently available. Please check the ChargeNet app or network map for the latest charger status before you travel.

Cable vandalism continues to cause unnecessary disruption for EV drivers and damage to critical charging infrastructure. If you see anything suspicious at a charging site, please call Police on 105 or report it online.

We know how frustrating these outages are for our customers, and we appreciate your patience while our team works to get the site back up and running 🔌🚗

A few ChargeNet network updates for your weekend ⚡

There’s plenty happening around the ChargeNet network, with chargers returning to service and additional charging capacity being added at sites around the motu.

📍 Taihape (New World)
The chargers are back online and available again following the recent extended disruption while we completed an upgrade. Thanks to everyone in the area for your patience while we worked to upgrade this site.

📍 New Plymouth (New World)
Scheduled upgrade work at the site has now been completed and the chargers are back online and available for drivers, with an additional third charger now available.

📍 Kaiapoi (New World)
The charger is back up and running following the recent vandalism affecting the site.

📍 Manukau (PAK'nSAVE)
We’ve added a third charger to the site! We've installed a new 200kW charger, increasing both the number of chargers available and the fast-charging capacity at this location.

📍 Silverdale (PAK'nSAVE)
More charging capacity is now available at Silverdale, with a third charger now installed and available to customers. One of the existing chargers that was unavailable during construction, is also back in service.

A big thanks for your patience while our teams have been working across these locations. Whether it’s restoring chargers, repairing damage or adding more capacity, it’s all part of keeping EV drivers moving around Aotearoa.

As always, check the ChargeNet app or network map before you travel for the latest live charger status 🔌🚗
