$1,600 a month. That’s what Kaiapoi courier driver Maurice Tua was spending on diesel before switching to an electric LDV eDeliver 9 in 2023.

Three years on, Maurice and his wife Lisa have put over 36,000 kWh through their Evnex E2 home charger: the most of any E2 in New Zealand and the equivalent of almost 200,000 km driven.

With solar panels, a home battery and scheduled overnight charging, their van is fully charged and ready every morning for its 170 km daily route.

Last month, EVs outsold every other fuel type in Australia. That has never happened before!

27,089 new EVs were sold, surpassing petrol, diesel, hybrid and PHEV, making up a record 24.9% of the new car market. In January the figure was 8.4%.
