Today we're announcing our partnership with Toyota New Zealand and Lexus New Zealand. As their electric and plug-in hybrid range grows, we'll be working together to offer every Toyota and Lexus customer a home charging solution that's refreshingly simple.

I’m an Airbnb host just like you, but I’m also a frustrated EV driver. Every time I go away in my EV I struggle to find somewhere to stay that lets me charge my car. And when I talk to fellow hosts about adding EV charging, I hear the same concerns, is there enough demand? Is it safe? Is it going to cost me a fortune? Can I pass the cost on to the guest? - Spoiler alert - yes you can!
So I decided to do something about it. 💪
As an community leader, I have the privilege of running workshops for my hosting community and this one feels important. With EV sales growing faster than almost anyone predicted, now could be the perfect moment to get ahead of the curve and start welcoming EV-driving guests to your property and get booked.
But I get it, where do you even start? Who do you ask? That’s exactly why I put this workshop together. We have a panel from Government, EV Firesafe, two providers and a host who offers EV charging at his place and you can hear what his guests think of it!
I know I’m not alone in struggling to find accommodation that lets me charge up when I’m away — and other EV drivers feel exactly the same way.

Australia has the highest rate of rooftop solar adoption in the world. During the middle of the day, much of that excess power isn't reaching the homes that could use it.

That's about to change. From 1 July millions of households across Australia will get access to 3 hours of free power every day through the federal Solar Sharer scheme.

This week TVNZ visited the Evnex team in Sydney to see how we're helping Australians charge their EVs using that clean, cheap midday energy, and to discuss how New Zealand could learn a thing or two from our friends across the ditch.

Evnex customers can now open their app, see their home energy usage compared against 200+ Australian power plans, and find out exactly which one saves them the most. The best part is it's not just some database of tariffs, it's a personalised recommendation based on your home's actual energy usage and charging behaviour.

We're on the move, and for a very good reason. Evnex is growing, and growing means we need more room to build chargers.

Last week our team moved into a new Christchurch location. Our manufacturing operations have expanded, and we've added an evening shift to keep chargers rolling out the door. We've also hired additional support staff at a rapid rate to help with the demand.

It's been a whirlwind 3 months since the fuel crisis kicked off, and we're so grateful for the support our customers have shown us. For those who've waited a little longer than usual: thank you for bearing with us.
