A little update on the Dustex project we showed you in the workshop recently.

The clean air section was connected to the top body and hopper sections, bringing the whole unit together after a lot of work from the team.

From there, it was broken over ready for transport, loaded up and sent on its way to site.

A really good project for a great customer, and always satisfying to see something of this size leave the workshop ready to do its job.

There’s a lot that goes into keeping a project moving, especially when timelines are tight.

A big project currently taking shape in our workshop.

We’re currently working with Dustex on this custom dust filtration unit, bringing our engineering expertise to their design and taking care of the material supply, fabrication and coating to spec.

The hopper, top body and clean air section are now coming together, with final lagging and assembly up next.

Plenty more to come on this project - stay tuned to see the finished result.

Architectural metalwork is about far more than fabrication.

Long before a piece of metal reaches the workshop floor, there's a lot happening behind the scenes. Material selection, coatings, structural considerations, brackets, fixings, shop drawings, transport and installation all play an important role in achieving the finished result.

Ever wondered how a SmartDig is built?

It all starts with a rolled piece of steel.

From there, our fabrication team gets to work, transforming it into the SmartDig HX6000 tank before it moves through blasting, painting, assembly and testing.

It's a process that brings together multiple departments under one roof, with every stage playing a part in building a finished Hydrovac truck that's ready to perform in the field.

From concept to fabrication, all under one roof.

Projects like this show what makes ITSS different.

Our customer came to us looking for design support and engineering expertise to develop two custom fertiliser elevator trailers for the helicopter industry.

Our design team modelled the existing trailer in detail, creating accurate drawings that allow our fabrication team to manufacture every component with precision.

It's a collaborative process that brings together design, engineering, and fabrication to deliver a practical solution that's built for the job.

The newest addition to the yard.

This shipping container supplied by Mason Containers has had a bit of a transformation and is now the ITSS team's dedicated lunch spot.

A place to grab some food, get refreshed, and catch up between jobs.

What was once a standard container is now a practical, fit-for-purpose space built right here in our workshop.

Proof that with the right fabrication and engineering, a container can be turned into just about anything.

This SmartDig HX6000 is truck number 93 we have built! The unit is placed on the latest Gen 8 Fuso Sh**un 8x4 truck supplied by Keith Andrews Trucks.

Fresh off the production line here at ITSS Engineering - Smart Dig's OEM, it has been put to work already within days of delivery seamlessly with the customer PTL Group.

The fantastic Smart Dig units showcase how all departments of the ITSS Engineering business come together to create a tried and proven piece of machinery.

Design, Steel Fabrication, Machining, Lightfab, Hydraulics, Blasting and Paint, Fitting, Assembly and testing all completed within our four walls.

It's a great example of the breadth of capability we have in-house and what can be achieved when skilled people from different departments come together on a project.
