Introducing Ana and Matt Wech from Wech Farms 🌿

A huge thank you to these two for welcoming us onto their beautiful farm to shoot our new 26/27 knitwear collection.

Matt is a fourth-generation farmer who has dedicated years to restoring steep, erosion-prone farmland back to native bush. While previous generations cleared the land for sheep and beef farming, they also witnessed firsthand the challenges of erosion during heavy rainfall. Today, the farm focuses on the flatter, more fertile areas, where free-range hens produce fresh eggs and native trees are grown in an on-site nursery for restoration projects and the wider community.

For 14 years, Ana and Matt were commercial beekeepers, producing mānuka honey and sharing their passion through live bee tours for overseas visitors. Their commitment to caring for the land has been recognised through multiple awards, including two honours at the Ballance Farm Environment Awards for biodiversity and water enhancement.

Their vision continues to evolve, with plans to create glamping experiences that allow visitors to enjoy this special corner of Aotearoa for themselves.
