This is it. The final round before the playoffs.
Nothing has been handed to these lads. Every metre, every tackle, every Tuesday and Thursday night has been earned.
Our Civil IQ Wellsford Premier Reserves need just one more win to secure a credible 5th-place finish. Considering there wasn’t even a team in this grade last season, that’s an incredible achievement. This squad is made up of first-time senior players, seasoned veterans, brothers, cousins and lifelong mates who have grown into a team our club can be incredibly proud of. They’ve laid the foundation for something exciting.
Then come our Civil IQ Wellsford Premiers.
We’re currently equal second alongside the Sharks, with every team in the top five still fighting for their place in the semifinals. That’s how close this competition is. Every carry, every tackle, every breakdown and every moment matters. Saturday isn’t just another game, it has the intensity of finals rugby.
Now we need our people.
When the legs are heavy and the lungs are burning, players don’t just look at the scoreboard, they look to the sideline. They look for familiar faces. They listen for familiar voices.
Let’s make sure they see a sea of black and white.
Let’s make sure they hear Wellsford.
