Today was a very mixed emotions day for us at JC Scaffolding Services LTD .
The journey of JC Scaffolding Services LTD has taken another path and will be closing our services from 30/11/2022. All of us at JC Scaffolding Services would like to thank you for the Loyalty and support everyone has given us towards building a successful safe strong business within New Zealand’s construction industry.
This has been a very exciting experience full of highs and lows with large opportunities of learning and growth building strong relationship ethics in our team, homes and with our clients.

JC Scaffolding Services Business has been Purchased by ProTrade Group and JC’s current team will be moving its services to ProTrade on 01/12/2022

Operations Supervisor:

JC Scaffolding Services are are looking for a Operations Supervisor.

This position will be based in Hastings, travelling to sites across the region. In this role you will utilise your scaffolding expertise to support multiple scaffolding crews delivering top quality work, interact with Clients and be a key part of the management team.
The supervisor sets the example for his team and is expected to be an example in timekeeping, safety, fairness, proactivity and problem solving. This position is responsible for ensuring that client requirements and expectations are being met and the work is being done safely and in accordance with scaffolding best practice guidelines.

JC Scaffolding Services are experts in providing a variety of access requirements in a vast number of locations including, but not limited to; rail sites, industrial sites, residential housing, commercial sites, staging and confined spaces.

Skills & Experience
• Scaffolding experience
• leadership or management experience either as a supervisor or Leading Hand
• NZ or Australian Scaffolding COC
• Proven efficient communication and time management skills
• Strong interpersonal and relationship building Skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills taking a practical and logical approach

Key responsibilities

Operational:
• Help plan work schedules
• Allocate crews to projects
• Supervise loading and unloading of trucks
• Resolve any site issues
• Design scaffolds custom to projects
• Work closely with Leading Hands to ensure TA's are completed accurately

Health & Safety:
• Lead by example in your work
• Plan Safe Work Methods
• Ensure Tool Box Talks and site audits are completed
• Promote a safety first culture

People Leadership:
• Manage staff performance
• Identify and promote staff development and training needs
• Collaborate with the other members of management team

To thrive in this role you must be able to demonstrate effective communication and people skills, interacting with Clients in the planning of projects and with the Leading Hands at site on a daily basis to ensure project delivery meets the Client's expectations.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate proven experience in the scaffolding industry as a Supervisor or Leading Hand, the ability to provide references and a willingness to take random drug and alcohol screening as a condition of employment.

JC Scaffolding have made a tidy start on the Kaweka Health Stage 2 Project.
We are very proud to be part of this project. The 1st section of scaffold to go up is close to 700m of edge protection, multiple scaffold stair access towers and back propping supports within this 3 level complex.
Not far behind our team will follow through with a big hit of scaffold pedestrian gantries, access towers, work platforms and loading bays to cater for all exterior works along with lots of work in the interior as well.
We supply digital designs to our client to help visualise the tasks ahead and the finished product JC Scaffolding promises to deliver.

JC Scaffolding Services were approached by GEMCO to supply a scaffolding and encapsulation solution for the Lindisfarne Homestead Strengthening & Alterations Project. The task was tricky with building over top of the fragile concrete roof tiles. A solution was easily sorted with working along side our experienced scaffolders and engineers. The main obstacle was supporting the scaffold structure over the roof without exposing the internal timber work of the building to any rain, so the team had to plan carefully and act fast during the fine spells of weather. Multiple support structures where taken down through selected section of the roof and back propped right down through the building with a temporary seal over the holes before quickly throwing over the main shrink wrap encapsulation.

The next stage will be a hanging scaffold to cater for the new renovation extension. Photos to come.
