🕊️ A Special Project, Close to the Heart 🕊️

I had the honour of working on something truly meaningful — creating a concrete surrounding around the grave of my beloved cousin. With the blessing of my aunty and uncle, I'm sharing this post not just to show the work, but to acknowledge the love, care, and respect that went into every part of it.
This wasn’t just another concrete job. This was personal.
From the preparation of the site, setting the formwork, pouring the mix, and finishing it off with clean, strong lines — every step was done with purpose and pride. It’s a lasting tribute, built to honour and protect the memory of someone who meant so much to all of us.
Grateful I could use my skills to give something back to the family, and even more grateful for the trust and support to make it happen.

🛠️ Hard Yards at Waipu Caves 🛠️

Plenty of sweat and elbow grease going into this stage of the Waipu Caves! 💪

We’ve been deep underground, breaking rock by hand to widen and lower the cave floor — all to allow better access for the next stage: concrete pouring and handrail installation. Every bit of rubble has been cleared manually, piece by piece, with no machines down here — just old-fashioned muscle.

We've also started building concrete pillow walls, again all by hand, to support the upcoming concrete walkway. It’s tough work in tight, dark spaces — but the end result will be worth it!

A massive thanks to the crew for getting stuck in and helping RNR and Manawa Land Care deliver real results underground 👷‍♂️👷‍♀️🙌
