🎉 110 YEARS OF CROFT POLES & TIMBER! 🎉
From a humble native kauri mill in Opuawhanga back in 1916 to a thriving modern operation, we are officially celebrating 110 years in business! It all started with Jim Bisset, and through decades of hard work, grit, and dedication, the Croft family legacy grew. Today, we are proud to be led by our 5th generation, keeping the same family values alive that started it all over a century ago.
Over the coming months, we will be sharing our journey with you—including interviews, old photos, and stories from the people who made us who we are today. Thank you to our past and present team, customers, and community for being part of our history. 🪵

Meet Sam, our Maintenance Supervisor! 👋⚙️

Samuel James Littin joined the Crofts team 5 years ago, and honestly, the guy just loves fixing sh*t— both here and at home! 🛠️

He is a proud Kauri local, family man to Tiffany and their two daughters, and keeps busy with hockey, netball, Xbox, and dual 3-D printers.

🎵 Fun Fact: In 2022, Sam challenged himself to listen to 1,000 albums on Spotify. His top pick? UB40’s Labour of Love.

Good on ya, Sam! Thanks for keeping the mill moving. 🪵

This week, our Croft whānau is reluctantly saying farewell to one of life's good guys, Waiora Manukau. After 8 years with us, Wai is heading back down the line to Huntly.

Wai started out with us from the ground up stacking timber. Through hard work and natural capability, he progressed into various leadership roles across the Sawmill, before transferring his skills to the Treatment side of the company.

The yard won't be the same without:
👉 His approachability & willingness to lend a hand
👉 His humour & first-rate impersonations of the crew
👉 His unmatched music taste blasted in the yard

Wai, thank you for the massive shift you’ve put in here over the last 8 years, and for just being an all-round legend to work alongside. We wish you and your whānau nothing but the absolute best for the next chapter in your home town. Haere rā! 🪵

Side note: Can anyone check on Trent next week? He's not coping well with Wai's departure.😫😒

🪵 Welcome to the team, James! 🪵
We are rapt to introduce the newest member of our Kauri Sales team.
James Perry comes to us with more than 10 years of timber industry experience. Spending most of that time in machining, he really knows his timber stuff!
When he isn’t at work, James is usually kayaking, smoking meat, busy in his workshop, or heading to the beach with his wife and 4-year-old son. ☀️
Welcome to the Croft family, James!
