Our most recent school completion - Kaiwaka School - Library & Multipurpose Space Construction.

Despite difficult access and a site on a steep hillside, the project build team combined innovative problem-solving along with superior craftsmanship to deliver a top-tier asset for the school. The building is a testament to the collaboration between NPM Construction, Ministry Of Education, the School, Designgroup architects h+k , RS Engineering, and our subcontractors including Bowling Group sister companies, Steve Bowling Contracting Ltd and SSP Engineering.

We are proud to continue delivering quality assets to our communities. Thank you to all of our staff and the sub contractors involved with another successful project.

Building People Awards – 2026

NPM Construction Ltd is proud to be recognised alongside Mandeno Design, Ministry Of Education, and Scope - Total Project Partners in the recent Building People Awards held in Auckland.

The team of companies were recognised for their collaboration on the Tauraroa Area School - New Classroom Block & Whare Project.

The Building Institute Aotearoa said the following:

"Bruce, Damian, Louise and Simon exemplified the very best of collaborative delivery on the Tauraroa Area School project. Navigating change, programme pressures, and complex stakeholder needs, they built a culture of trust, openness, and shared ownership. The judges praised the team's honesty, adaptability, and unwavering focus on achieving the best outcome for the school community."

It takes a massive effort to complete a project like this, so we would like to thank all of our employees, suppliers and contractors for their efforts on this outstanding project.

We are honoured to be recognised for our hard work, and our collaborative approach to gaining the best outcomes for our communities and our clients.

NPM Construction are proud to be involved in the restoration and upgrade of this iconic Whangarei building. Doing what we do well in liaising with all the stakeholders to get a great result.

For the past four months, our 1950s five-storey office building in Whangārei has been hidden behind scaffolding as it undergoes a complete exterior and interior transformation. One of the key thoughts on the exterior has been making sure that we respect the heritage of this Gummer & Ford designed building with our colour choice, materials and making sure that we respect the building owner’s vision.

This task was no easy feat, there was a lot of conversations, careful planning and the odd sleepless night. However, seeing the first section of scaffolding come down at the rear of the building was a proud moment. For the first time, our vision came into view—a natural, warm, and inviting exterior that respects the building's heritage while giving it a fresh new lease on life.

Watch this space… this is just the beginning, and we are so excited about it.

NPM Construction were recently awarded a tender for the construction of new teaching spaces and outdoor sports facilities at Tauraroa Area School.

What an awesome result for everyone involved 👏

Thanks to an incredibly collaborative group of stakeholders, this project was delivered ahead of schedule and under budget — something we can all be proud of.

📐 Whareako: 135m² – equivalent to 2 standard teaching spaces
📐 Block A: 650m² – 6 general teaching spaces
📐 Multicourt: 1750m² – artificial courts for Hockey, Basketball, Netball & Tennis

These new spaces are a real game changer for students and staff. The difference from what was there before is huge — warm, safe, dry spaces that create a much better environment for learning and teaching. They’ll be appreciated for many years to come.

The quality speaks for itself, with every detail built to last.

Massive shoutout to our in-house carpenters and painters, along with our local subcontractors — could not have done it without you 👷‍♂️💪

We are proud to have delivered this significant project for all of Northland. The video has extensive detail of what was involved. A huge credit to everyone involved in the high quality finish. We’re looking forward to working with Health NZ on their next big project.
