From pure ocean minerality to deep black garlic, warm mānuka smoke and luxurious black truffle, each salt brings its own character to the table.

Taste them side by side and something wonderful happens: salt stops being simply “salty” and becomes an ingredient worth exploring.

Four distinctive flavours. Flavour shaped by the ocean.

Which would you taste first? Come check them out at the Wellington Food Show. Starts tomorrow. The Food Show

Fiery Red Chilli — “A little heat. A lot of flavour.”
Whilst its not summer yet....start the BBQ season early.

Opito Bay Fiery Red Chilli sea salt brings heat, brightness, warmth and a clean salty lift without overwhelming food. Try it with prawns, grilled fish, corn, avocado or anything coming off the barbecue. Especially good when there is a cold glass of something nearby.

A lot of people ask "so what's so different about your salt?".

Firstly the way it tastes and flavours food. The salt works differently on the palate. The soft crystals dissolve at different rates giving a longer more pronounced saltiness. [You'll need less]. The naturally occurring minerals in the salt-up to 70 different minerals-increase it's flavour and means that the salt tastes very oceanic and has depth.

The salt also works through the mineral structure. The crystals are different sizes which means you get a layered saltiness again creating a depth which means you taste your food differently.

Opito Bay Salt is a natural, unrefined sea salt with naturally occurring ocean minerals, while refined sea salt is usually, uniform, heavily processed and often contains anti-caking agents or added iodine.

The main reasons people choose Opito Bay Salt are its natural production method, clean flavour, provenance, texture and naturally occurring minerals.

We do very well on the global stage when we compare the quality of our food with the rest of the world. Just do one small thing this Sunday and maybe even have a whole meal of all local ingredients.

Unprocessed, raw and unrefined. Just sea water and sunshine. Slow natural evaporation with nothing added nothing taken away. It's the way sea salt should be made...and its a tradition we want to preserve. Don't settle for processed sea salt.
