Fiji's climate is one of the toughest tests for any structure, from tropical cyclones, high humidity, salt-laden air and constant UV exposure.

These shelters, installed in 2012, have stood up to all of it for over a decade. Built to last.

🐮 "Improved feed conversion efficiency"

West Coast farmers, come and see a composting barn in action. 🐄

We're opening the doors at Maimai on Friday 9 October, 10am to 1pm. Walk through a working SmartShelters composting barn, see how the bedding pack performs, and ask the questions that matter before you build: stocking rates, ventilation, bedding management and what it means for your wintering and effluent.

Bring a neighbour, bring your questions. Spaces are limited, so register here:

Cows don't usually run 🏃‍♀️🐄

Except, apparently, when there's a comfy SmartShelters composting barn waiting for them.

This Northland farmer has been on the land his whole life - 80 years - and reckons he's never seen anything like it.

Happy cows, dry feet, healthier herd. Send us a message and we'll talk through what a barn would look like on your farm 💬

The tunnel effect in action 👀

Watch how fast that steam clears. This farmer ripping his Composting Barn shows exactly why a SmartShelter vents moist air so well — the arched shape pulls air straight through, no fans, no gaps, no dead zones.

It's called the tunnel effect, and it's built into the shape — not bolted on. Steel and flat-roof sheds can't replicate it.

13 seasons and counting. 💪

This Canterbury composting barn went up back in 2013 and has been successfully wintering 300 cows ever since.

With healthy comfortable cows the farmer, Graham, is getting "more production with fewer cows"

Ripping in action 🚜

We love to see these videos of our composting barns in action.
This is from a well run farm in the West Coast - keep up the great work Hannah

Why does a SmartShelter Composting Barn have such good airflow? 👇

It's all in the design, which is working on hundreds of farms across NZ already.

"Sorry girls, not just yet!"

The herd was already keen to check out their new digs on the way past to the milking shed, can't blame them, it's looking pretty good in there. Our crew's just putting the finishing touches on this composting barn shelter now.

Great to tick off another completed build here in Waikato
👷‍♂️🐮. Composting barns make such a difference for cow comfort and effluent management, and there's nothing quite like watching a paddock turn into a finished barn that will pay itself off many times over.
