🌉 Technical Hydrological & Hydraulic Assessment – Yarta Bridge Project

MMI Civil Solution was engaged by Teyewai Investment Properties Limited to undertake a hydrological and hydraulic assessment for the proposed Yarta Bridge.
The scope involved detailed catchment delineation, flow estimation, and flood frequency analysis to establish design discharge parameters.
Using GECRAS hydraulic modelling, we simulated channel geometry, flood behaviour, and energy grade line profiles to evaluate hydraulic performance under multiple design storm events. Model outputs informed the determination of the required bridge waterway opening, deck soffit level, and cross‑sectional geometry to ensure conveyance capacity, structural resilience, and compliance with design standards.
This technical assessment provides an evidence‑based foundation for the bridge’s conceptual and detailed design phases.

🔎 Geotechnical Investigation – Subsurface Characterization for Raina No.1 Limited, Port Moresby Town
Our team has completed a detailed geotechnical investigation for an upcoming development in Port Moresby Town, commissioned by Raina No.1 Limited. The investigation was carried out to establish a reliable understanding of the site’s geotechnical profile and to inform foundation and earthwork design.
Fieldwork activities included:
• Borehole drilling with Standard Pe*******on Tests (SPT) for stratigraphic profiling and in-situ strength estimation.
• Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (DCP) testing to assess near-surface strength variation and approximate CBR values for pavement and platform design.
• Test Pits (TPs) to visually classify soil horizons, observe material behavior, and collect bulk/disturbed samples for laboratory testing.
• Groundwater level monitoring to evaluate hydrogeological conditions influencing foundation and excavation design.
The data collected will contribute to developing geotechnical design parameters supporting foundation system selection, settlement prediction, earthworks recommendations, and overall project feasibility. Robust subsurface investigation remains essential in achieving safe, efficient, and durable structural outcomes—especially in varied ground conditions such as those encountered across Port Moresby.
