: Lanco KutMor joins Chamber of Mines and Petroleum
PNG Chamber of Mines and Petroleum (“The Chamber”) is delighted to announce KutMor as one of the first Landowner Companies to sign up in March as a service member of the Chamber for 2023.
KutMor is owned by Landowners from the Kutubu, Moran and Mananda areas with a shareholding geographic reach covering communities extending from Benaria and Aijagaiba in the northwest of Hela Province, through to Kantobo in the southeast of Southern Highlands Province.
As a Service member of the Chamber, KutMor shares a strong value in promoting sustainable futures, especially economic benefits for all its Stakeholders including Shareholders, Local communities, Employees and Business Partners through investments and professional delivery of services to all clients.
The Chamber, in welcoming KutMor, acknowledged the Landowner company for its significant contributions to the economic and social development of the project areas. “The Chamber is made up of all stakeholders who operate in our industry, which, importantly, includes landowner companies. Our Landowner companies have an essential role to play to ensure there is sustainable and tangible business benefits for the local landowning communities and this in turn ensures continued social licence for the project. Thus, we are delighted that Kutmor Limited has become a service member of the Chamber and can participate in Chamber activities, promote itself to other Chamber members and contribute to the growth and operations of the Chamber and the industry”.
General Manager for KutMor, Mr Nathan Nason, said at the presentation ceremony that KutMor is a model Landowner company which is built on its non-dependency on royalty payments but has instead consolidated and built its management and governance systems enabling it to prosper and venture into various business investments.
“KutMor’s Board of Directors undertook a Strategic Workshop to develop a 5-year Strategic Plan in 2019. As a result, the board has a clear Plan to deliver Strategic Targets along with developing Capacity in its management team, exploring, and further developing its Capabilities in their operating business while keeping a broader outlook on developing a Sustainable business outside of the Oil and Gas Industry through Investments. As such, a recent major achievement for KutMor is the Purchase of Vanguard International, a leading Manpower Service Company in PNG.”
Mr. Nason emphasized that some of the attributes that has brought KutMor to where it is today is because it has always valued Compliance with its Constitution, Client Contracts and Statutory requirements.
“Kutmor is up to date with its Employee Superannuation, Taxes and ensures all its Insurances are well covered as an obligation to its Value for Compliance. In terms of its Value for Safety, KutMor achieved 10 years Lost Time Injury (LTI) free in 2022 and continues to uphold it.”
