Rovoca Development Co. is set to break ground on Pickle Drive Bacolod, our second international-standard indoor pickleball sports facility, located along Araneta Highway, Barangay Pahanocoy, South Bacolod, Bacolod City. Building on our experience from a previous pickleball facility project, this development is designed to serve the growing southern Bacolod community, nearby municipalities, and future national-level tournaments—reinforcing Rovoca’s commitment to precision-driven, long-term sports infrastructure.
The facility integrates pre-engineered steel structures, precast concrete firewalls, and high-tolerance monolithic concrete flatwork—a construction system selected to balance speed of ex*****on, controlled quality, and long-term durability. The structural design follows NSCP 2015, AISC, and ACI standards, ensuring predictable performance, resilience, and code-compliant safety suitable for sustained operation and long-term investment.
Precast concrete wall panels are utilized at firewall locations to achieve factory-controlled quality, consistent dimensional accuracy, enhanced fire resistance, and faster installation compared to conventional site-cast methods. This approach minimizes on-site variability while allowing parallel off-site fabrication and on-site works to maintain schedule momentum.
The courts are constructed over machine-troweled, straight-to-finish concrete slabs, placed using laser leveling and elevation control systems to achieve tight flatness and levelness tolerances across the entire playing surface. This methodology ensures accurate court geometry, uniform surface response, and consistent ball behavior, while allowing professional athletic flooring systems to be installed without corrective grinding or rework—an essential requirement for tournament-grade play.
Architecturally, Pickle Drive is intentionally clear and restrained, prioritizing usability and spatial clarity. Open-span framing provides unobstructed sightlines, generous clear heights support proper ball trajectory, and circulation is logically organized to separate players, spectators, and support functions. The result is a facility that feels intuitive, efficient, and purpose-built rather than overdesigned.
Court color schemes are inspired by international championship venues, including Australian Open–influenced palettes, selected to improve ball visibility, reduce visual fatigue, and enhance spatial perception under indoor lighting—subtle but critical details that directly influence playing feel and competitive performance.
We are grateful for another opportunity to deliver a facility of this caliber—engineered for performance, designed for usability, and built for longevity—bringing international-level pickleball courts to South Bacolod through Pickle Drive, executed with the discipline, precision, and standards Rovoca is known for.
