Conditioned air does not always travel directly from the air handling unit to the supply point. It may first pass through roof voids, plenums or other unconditioned spaces.

And during that journey, it can gain or lose heat. 🌡️

As a result, the air may arrive at a different temperature than intended.
insulated ducting addresses this by integrating thermal insulation directly between two textile layers — without the need for additional external .

It’s an important question when designing safe and reliable systems: Is fireproof? 👉 The short answer: most fabric ducting materials are flame retardant, but it’s important to distinguish between flame retardant and non-combustible materials.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 #𝐟𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞?
Our most commonly used fabrics are certified according to international standards. A clear example is the European standard 𝐄𝐍 𝟏𝟑𝟓𝟎𝟏-𝟏, where high-quality Prihoda fabrics are classified as 𝐁-𝐬𝟏-𝐝𝟎.

That means:
✔️ 𝐁 – very limited contribution to fire
✔️ 𝐬𝟏 – minimal smoke production
✔️ 𝐝𝟎 – no flaming droplets

When exposed to flame, the fabric carbonises and crumbles without holding or spreading the flame.

𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐧𝐨𝐧-𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠?
For specific applications, Prihoda also offers a fully fabric duct known as 𝐌𝟎, made from glass fibre. Due to its rigid structure and lower flexibility, it is best suited for systems with stable airflow and no condensation risk.

So, while fabric ducting is not generally described as “fireproof”, Prihoda systems offer certified properties for a wide range of public and private buildings. 🌍
