The Department celebrates the hard work, perseverance, and achievements of the 105 candidates for graduation after successfully completing the academic requirements for the Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. The graduating class includes candidates who completed their degree requirements in previous semesters and will be formally conferred during the commencement exercises.

The Class of 2026 also produced three (3) Latin honors graduates, led by Charlie Quetula, Magna Cum Laude; Cesar A. Respicio, Jr., Cum Laude; and Kathrina Cassandra B. Tagudin, Cum Laude.

The 48th Commencement Exercises will be held across two afternoons on June 10–11 at the MMSU Sunken Garden, wherein the College of Engineering, together with other colleges of the university, will hold its graduation ceremony on June 11.

Let this milestone serve as a foundation for greater accomplishments and meaningful contributions to the engineering profession and society.

Admission to the BS Civil Engineering program is strictly subject to the availability of slots.

The Department of Civil Engineering successfully held its Hard Hatting Ceremony on May 21, 2026, at 1:00 PM, at MMSU Teatro Ilocandia.

The ceremony was organized to formally recognize Civil Engineering students as future professionals and to signify their readiness to undertake field practice. It also served as a tribute to BSCE IV students who successfully completed the 320 hours of On-the-Job Training for Academic Year 2024–2025.

The event marked an important milestone in the students’ academic journey, as they were officially presented on stage and donned hard hats—symbolizing their entry into the professional field of civil engineering. The occasion was made more meaningful by the presence of their parents and guardians, who witnessed and celebrated this achievement with them.

The Department was honored by the presence of Engr. Ernesto “Boying” Q. Malicad, an alumnus of the department and owner of E&A Engineering Services, who served as the Guest of Honor and Speaker. His message inspired the students to pursue excellence and integrity in their future profession.

Also present during the ceremony were Dr. Sharona Q. Barroga, Dean of the College of Engineering, and Dr. Aris Reynold V. Cajigal, Vice President for Academic Affairs, whose presence added distinction to the occasion.

The Hard Hatting Ceremony stands as a celebration of achievement, growth, and the beginning of the students’ journey toward becoming professional civil engineers.

The event served as a recognition of the BSCE students—honoring those who have completed their On-the-Job Training and formally sending off those who are about to undertake their field exposure, as they prepare for future professional practice in Civil Engineering.
