Mountain Province State University: The Province's Lone Public University
Mountain Province State University (MPSU) is the only public university in Mountain Province, Philippines. Led by President Dr. Edgar G. Cue, the institution provides quality higher education and professional training in fields such as agriculture, education, forestry, engineering, business, and information technology.
Originally established in 1969 as the Mountain Province Community College, the institution was converted into a state college in 1992. It officially became a university on August 1, 2024, following the signing of Republic Act No. 12016, marking a significant milestone in its history.
MPSU operates a multi-campus system across Mountain Province. Its main campus is located in Poblacion, Bontoc, while additional campuses are found in Tadian, Bauko, and Paracelis. The Bauko Campus houses the Congressman Victor S. Dominguez Research and Training Center, while the Paracelis Campus focuses on agricultural technology programs.
The university offers a wide range of academic programs, including Education, Criminology, Business Administration, Accountancy, Hospitality and Tourism Management, Forestry, Agricultural Technology, Political Science, Information Technology, Engineering, and Arts.
As Mountain Province's premier public higher education institution, MPSU continues to play a vital role in developing skilled professionals and contributing to the social and economic growth of the Cordillera region.
